Sport with a great Paralympic tradition, since Rome'60, 28 years before the incorporation of the Olympic version into the program. Six players divided into two teams of 3 each will play a total of three dizzying matches.

Inclusive Table Tennis Regulations

Main Federations

Organization: The tournament is organized under the regulations of the Spanish Table Tennis Federation (RFETM).

Participating Athletes

Number of Teams: 4 teams

Team Composition:

  • Each team will consist of 3 players:
    • One male player in the absolute category.
    • One player in the wheelchair disability category.
    • One player in the standing disability category (can be male or female).
  • Team Coach: Each team will have a coach who may assist the players during matches.

Matches and Events

Each match between two teams will consist of five games: four singles and one doubles, distributed as follows:

  • Mixed Inclusive Doubles:
    Two pairs will participate, each consisting of the male player in the absolute category and the player in the wheelchair disability category.
  • Individual 1:
    Wheelchair disability vs Wheelchair disability.
  • Individual 2:
    Absolute male vs Standing disability (male or female).
  • Individual 3:
    Standing disability vs Standing disability (same gender).
  • Individual 4:
    Absolute male vs Standing disability (opposite gender if applicable).

Scoring

Sets per Match: Each match will be played best of 3 sets.

Scoring System:

  • Each set won by a player or pair will earn one point for their team.
  • The final result of the match will be the sum of all sets won by the players of each team in the five games played.
  • Match Victory: The team that wins the most sets at the end of the five games will be declared the winner of the match.

Final Ranking:

  • Teams will be ranked based on the number of matches won.
  • In case of a tie in the number of matches won, the difference in sets won/lost will be used as a tiebreaker.

Match Distribution

Group Stage:

  • Match 1:: Team A vs Team B
  • Match 2:: Team C vs Team D
  • Match 3:: Team A vs Team C
  • Match 4:: Team B vs Team D
  • Match 5:: Team A vs Team D
  • Match 6:: Team B vs Team C

Final Stage:

  • Semifinals:: 1st place vs 4th place and 2nd place vs 3rd place.
  • Final:: Winners of the semifinals.
  • 3rd Place Match:: Losers of the semifinals.

Support and Assistance

Coaches: Each team will have a coach who can provide assistance and guidance during the matches.

Support Staff: There will be assistants available to help athletes with disabilities when needed.

Awards and Recognition

Gold Medal: Will be awarded to the team that wins the tournament after the final stage.

Silver Medal: Will be awarded to the team that finishes in second place.

Bronze Medal: Will be awarded to the team that finishes in third place.

This regulation ensures that all participants, with and without disabilities, can compete on equal terms, promoting inclusion and respect in a sporting environment.
