Swimming

The pool will be one of the main focal points of the Inclusive Games. Four teams of eight members each, four with disabilities and four without, will compete in a "time trial" format across different styles.

Inclusive Swimming Regulations

Main Federations

Organization: The tournament is organized under the regulations of the following federations:

  • Royal Spanish Swimming Federation (RFEN)
  • Spanish Federation of Sports for the Deaf (FEDS)
  • Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Physical Disabilities (FEDDF)
  • Spanish Federation of Sports for the Blind (FEDC)
  • Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Intellectual Disabilities (FEDDI)
  • Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Cerebral Palsy and Acquired Brain Injury (FEDPC)

Participating Athletes

Number of Teams: 4 teams (red, yellow, green, and blue).

Team Composition:

  • Each team will consist of 8 swimmers:
    • 4 male swimmers.
    • 4 female swimmers.
    • 4 swimmers with disabilities.
    • 4 swimmers without disabilities.
  • Event Registration:
    • Each team must register 2 swimmers per event: one with a disability and one without a disability.
    • Each swimmer can participate in a maximum of 2 individual events plus the relay event.
    • As much as possible, each team should include 2 swimmers from classes S1-S5 (greater disability).

Competitions - Events

Competition Format:

  • All events will be held using a "time trial" system.
  • The composition of heats and lane assignments will be done by draw.
  • There will be a morning and an afternoon session.
    • Warm-up from 12:00 to 12:45, and morning competition from 13:00 to 14:00.
    • Warm-up from 16:00 to 16:45, and afternoon competition from 17:00 to 18:00.

  • 100m Breaststroke Male
  • 100m Breaststroke Female
  • 100m Freestyle Male
  • 100m Freestyle Female
  • 100m Backstroke Male
  • 100m Backstroke Female
  • 100m Butterfly Male
  • 100m Butterfly Female
  • 8x50m Mixed Medley Relay (2B-2B-2F-2C)
    • Relay Composition: Each team must include all its members in the relay event, with the stroke distribution: Backstroke - Breaststroke - Butterfly - Freestyle - Backstroke - Breaststroke - Butterfly - Freestyle.
    • Relay Lanes: Will be swum in lanes 3, 4, 5, and 6, with the heat composition determined by draw.
    • Order of Swimming: To be determined by each team according to their strategy.

Scoring

Individual Events:

  • Scoring will be based on:
    • World Aquatics Points Table for swimmers without disabilities.
    • MULTI-DISABILITY Points Table for swimmers with disabilities.
  • Based on the ranking in both tables (based on times achieved), points will be awarded as follows:
    • 1st Place: 11 points
    • 2nd Place: 8 points
    • 3rd Place: 6 points
    • 4th Place: 5 points
    • 5th Place: 4 points
    • 6th Place: 3 points
    • 7th Place: 2 points
    • 8th Place: 1 point

Relay Events:

  • Ties: In case of a tie in any event, points will be shared among the tied teams.
  • Points awarded based on the final position of the team:
    • 1st Place: 22 points
    • 2nd Place: 16 points
    • 3rd Place: 12 points
    • 4th Place: 10 points

Rankings

Overall Male Ranking:

  • Sum of all points obtained in male events.

Overall Female Ranking:

  • Sum of all points obtained in female events.

Overall Combined Ranking:

  • Sum of all points obtained in male events, female events, and mixed relay events.
  • Tiebreaker:
    If there is a tie in the overall ranking, the winner will be decided based on the number of first-place finishes. If the tie persists, second-place finishes will be considered, then third places, and so on.

Awards

Awards for the Basketball in Wheelchair Competition:

  • Gold Medal: Awarded to the team winning the final.
  • Silver Medal: Awarded to the finalist team.
  • Bronze Medal: Awarded to the third-place team.
