Inclusive tournament in the Mixed Duo Kata modality, featuring athletes with and without disabilities. A total of 24 athletes compete in pairs, demonstrating skills and teamwork in various adapted categories.

Main Federations

Organization: Tournament organized by the Royal Spanish Karate Federation (RFEK).

Participating Athletes

Number of Participants: 24 athletes organized in pairs/duos.

  • Composition of the Duos:
    • Each duo will consist of one athlete with a disability (intellectual, visual, physical, or wheelchair-bound) and one athlete from the absolute category without a disability.

Technical Team:

  • Three coaches responsible for the teams.
  • One doctor to attend to any issues during the competition.
  • One physiotherapist to assist athletes in case of injuries or physical needs.

Competitions - Events

Competition Modality: The competition will be held in the Mixed Duo Kata modality, where duos will be composed of one athlete with a disability and one athlete without a disability.

Events:

  • Mixed Duo Kata Intellectual Disability K21: Two teams consisting of one athlete with intellectual disability and one without.
  • Mixed Duo Kata Intellectual Disability K22: Two teams consisting of one athlete with intellectual disability and one without.
  • Mixed Duo Kata Intellectual Disability K23: Two teams consisting of one athlete with autism spectrum disorder and one without.
  • Mixed Duo Kata Visual Disability K10: Two teams consisting of one athlete with visual disability and one without.
  • Mixed Duo Kata Wheelchair K30: Two teams consisting of one athlete with disability and one without.
  • Mixed Duo Kata Physical Disability K40: Two teams consisting of one athlete with physical disability and one without.

Scoring

Scoring System:

  • The official scoring system for the kata modality will be applied, according to the rules established by the Royal Spanish Karate Federation (RFEK).

Awards

Medals:

  • Gold Medal: Awarded to the duo with the highest score in each event category.
  • Silver Medal: Awarded to the duo finishing in second place in each event category.
