A mixed team competition with four categories: Men's Olympic, Women's Olympic, Paralympic and Inclusive in which the winner will be the one who adds the most points. A pure show in which technique is much more important than strength.

Inclusive Judo Regulations

Main Federations

Organization: The tournament is organized under the regulations of the International Judo Federation (IJF) and the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) to ensure inclusion and fair competition between judokas with and without visual impairment.

Participating Athletes

Number of Teams: 3 participating teams.

Team Composition:

Each team will consist of 4 judokas, with a distribution of:

2 men and 2 women.

Minimum of 2 judokas with visual impairment per team.

Competitions - Matches

Competition Format

  • League System: All teams will play against each other in a league format, ensuring that each team plays two matches.
    • TEAM A vs TEAM B
    • TEAM A vs TEAM C
    • TEAM B vs TEAM C
  • Match Duration: Each match will last 4 minutes, following the applicable regulations based on the type of match.

Competition Rules:

  • IBSA Rules: The International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) rules will apply when:
    • Judokas with visual impairment compete against each other.
    • Judokas with visual impairment compete against judokas without visual impairment.
    • These rules include specific adaptations to ensure equal conditions in the matches.
  • IJF Rules: The International Judo Federation (IJF) rules will apply when:
    • Judokas without visual impairment compete against each other.
    • These rules follow the international standard judo norms.

Scoring

Team Composition and Weights

Each team will have judokas competing in the following weight categories:

Judo Weight Categories

Scoring System:

  • A victory will be awarded to the team that wins the most matches in the encounter. The winning team will receive 1 point.
  • In the event of a tie in the number of victories in an encounter, the tie will be decided by the number of ippon scored. If the tie persists, the number of waza-ari achieved will be evaluated.

Final Ranking:

  • The ranking will be based on the points accumulated in the matches.
    • 1st Place: The team with the most victories at the end of the three encounters.
    • 2nd Place: The second team with the most victories.

Awards

Medals:

  • Gold Medal: Awarded to the winning team of the tournament.
  • Silver Medal: Awarded to the team that finishes in second place.
