Inclusive Wheelchair Handball

Main Federations

Organization: The tournament is organized under the regulations of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation (RFEBM), which has adapted its statutes to include wheelchair and inclusive handball modalities.

Participating Athletes

Team Composition:

• Each team will consist of:
  • At least three registered female players
  • Maximum Number of Players per Team: Each team can have a maximum of 16 players and a minimum of 12.
  • During a match, six players must be on the court, including at least one female player.
  • Participation of Players without Disabilities: In this exhibition, players or former handball players without disabilities may participate, with a functional score of 1.

Competitions - Events

Competition Modality:

• This modality follows the general rules of indoor handball, with certain adaptations to ensure fairness and safety for all participants.

Match Duration:

• Matches will be played in two halves of 20 minutes each, with a 10-minute break between them.
• Timeout: Each team will be entitled to one 1-minute timeout per half. The team requesting the timeout must be in possession of the ball.

Scoring

Regulatory:

• The official wheelchair handball scoring system will be applied, in accordance with the rules established by the RFEBM. The team that scores the most goals during regular playtime will win.

Awards

Medals:

• Gold Medal: Awarded to the tournament-winning team.
• Silver Medal: Awarded to the team that finishes in second place.
