Athletics inclusive regulation

Main Federations

Organization: The tournament is organized under the regulations of the following federations:

  • Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA)
  • Spanish Federation of Sports for the Deaf (FEDS)
  • Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Physical Disabilities (FEDDF)
  • Spanish Federation of Sports for the Blind (FEDC)
  • Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Intellectual Disabilities (FEDDI)
  • Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Cerebral Palsy and Acquired Brain Injury (FEDPC)

Participating Athletes

Number of Athletes: 64 athletes in total, divided into 4 teams of 16 athletes each.

  • Team Composition: each team will be composed of 16 athletes, distributed as follows:
    • 8 athletes without disabilities (4 male and 4 female).
    • 8 athletes with disabilities (4 male and 4 female).
    • Gender Distribution: 50% men and 50% women in each team.

Event Participation:

  • Each athlete will participate in 2 individual events.
  • Relay Event: 4 athletes from each team (2 with disabilities and 2 without disabilities) will participate in the relay event.

Competitions - Events

Total Events: Five events will be held:

  • 100 meters (race)
  • 1500 meters (race)
  • Long Jump (contest)
  • Shot Put (contest)
  • 4x200 meters Relay (team race)

Athlete Distribution by Event:

  • Individual Events:
    • Each team will field 4 athletes in each individual event: 2 athletes with disabilities (1 male and 1 female) and 2 athletes without disabilities (1 male and 1 female).
    • Total Participants per Event: 16 athletes.
  • Event Details:
    • 100 meters: 2 heats will be held (1 male and 1 female). The times from both heats will be added for the team’s total score.
    • 1500 meters: All 16 athletes will compete together in the same heat.
    • Contests (Long Jump and Shot Put): All 16 athletes will compete together, with 2 attempts each. The best attempt will count towards the final score.
  • 4x200 meters Relay Event: Each team will field 4 athletes in the following order:
    • 1st leg: Male athlete without disabilities.
    • 2nd leg: Female athlete with disabilities.
    • 3rd leg: Female athlete without disabilities.
    • 4th leg: Male athlete with disabilities.

Scoring

Scoring System by Event:

  • Field Events (Long Jump and Shot Put):
    • The team with the highest total distance in the event will earn 4 points.
    • The second team will earn 3 points.
    • The third team will earn 2 points.
    • The fourth team will earn 1 point.
  • Track Events (100 meters and 1500 meters):
    • The team with the lowest total time will earn 4 points.
    • The second team will earn 3 points.
    • The third team will earn 2 points.
    • The fourth team will earn 1 point.
  • 4x200 meters Relay Event: This event will score double
    • The winning team will earn 8 points.
    • The second team will earn 6 points.
    • The third team will earn 4 points.
    • The fourth team will earn 2 points.

Final Ranking:

  • The total points accumulated across all events will determine the winning team.
  • Tiebreaker: In the event of a tie in total points, the number of first places obtained in the events will be considered. If the tie persists, second places will be considered, and so on.

Awards

Medals:

  • Gold Medal: Awarded to the team with the highest total score.
  • Silver Medal: Awarded to the team that finishes in second place.
  • Bronze Medal: Awarded to the team that finishes in third place.
